We have conducted the course in Nepal for the past 3 years now. It has been well received by the 84 pediatricians who have been trained so far. Several faculty travel from the United States to teach this course on a voluntary basis. They pay for their own flight and logistics in Nepal. We have also trained local faculty, 3 of whom are instructors of PFCCS recognized be the SCCM.

We partner with the Nepal Pediatric Society (NEPAS) and Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS), Patan Hospital. In fact, NEPAS recognized the need for the annual course and approached us to conduct it under its banner. NEPAS recruits and registers participants and helps with local logistics. Patan Hospital is the venue where the 2-day course is held every year.

ANMF has supported this project as it's own education project (an ERC project) for the past 2 years. We would like to submit this application to request funding support to conduct this course October 18- 19, 2019. In the past ANMF has purchased the license and books directly from SCCM. SCCM then sends the book to Nepal from its headquarters in Illinois.

Anticipated number of healthcare professionals attending the course: 30.
