26 Nepalese physicians were certified in PFCCS training. 80% were practicing 1-5 years, and approximately 7% more than 5 years, prior to attending PFCCS Nepal. Approximately 30% were from university hospitals. 2 Nepalese course participants that were certified in 2016 received mentor training and taught modules within the 2017 course. They will expand their comfort in additional modules in 2018. One of these Nepalese physicians has already been designated to take over the administration of PFCCS Nepal within a few years.
At the request of course participants a working group was established which met at the Siddhi Memorial Hospital to establish common pediatric transport guidelines, directories for Nepalese physicians taking care of critically ill children, and sepsis and antibiotics protocols. The aim of the working group is to establish standardized critical care protocols throughout Nepal. |
