Nepal Medical Association (NMA) is a professional organization of Medical and Dental Doctors in Nepal. It was established on 20th Falgun, 2007 BS (4th March, 1951). The Founder President of the NMA was Dr. Siddhi Mani A. Dixit. It has the honour of being the first professional organization of the kingdom. Starting with a few as 20 members at the time of its inception, it has evolved into a large organization with more than four thousand members under it's umbrella.
It has been regularly publishing a medical journal and organizing scientific sessions to make the medical professionals fully up-to-date with the advances in medical science. It has been striving with great zeal for the common interests of the medical profession and has thus contributed significantly towards the overall improvement of the health situation in the country. The lifelong dedication, commitment and devotion of many of our senior colleagues and friends has enabled this organization to come to this present status. |

On Feb 18, 2019 ANMF/America Board Member and past President, Dr Prakash Thapaliya conducted a continuing medical education (CME) program at Fishtail Hospital, Pokhara, Nepal. It was jointly done by ANMF/Nepal and Nepal Medical Association, Gandaki Branch. The CME topic was titled "US Healthcare System from a Nepali doctor's perspective: lessons and pitfalls for a developing nation". There was a big participation with nearly 50 health professionals. |
