Nepal Ambulance services to strengthening the pre-hospital emergency ambulance care in Nepal which complements the broader effort of Ministry of Health, Nepal to restore and strengthen health systems in different districts of Nepal.
The Strengthening Emergency Services project is intended to address some of the gaps needs during emergencies such as limited ambulance availability and long waiting times, disrupted communications; loss of specialized services; and others. The earthquake revealed important lessons learned for emergency management services. The number of emergency service available was very limited and those that were operational were stretched to the limit of their capacity. In addition, service provision within the ambulances, particularly for trauma patients, could improve the chances of reducing morbidity and mortality of critical patients in need. Project Objectives
The objective of the training course is to ensure that the EMTs of NAS and persons who are working in emergency department in Butwal & Bhairahawa western Nepal area remained proficient in the knowledge and skills necessary to provide pre-hospital emergency medical care and to introduce the new pre-hospital care protocols.
