On September 27, 2024, Nepal experienced devastating floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rainfall, resulting in widespread destruction across the country. By the end of September, the death toll had risen to at least 193 people, with many more injured and dozens missing. In addition to the tragic loss of life, vital infrastructure was severely impacted. Several highways connecting Kathmandu to the rest of the country were blocked by landslides, isolating the city for days. Public services, including electricity and transportation, were disrupted due to the extreme weather.
