ANMF/Nepal reports: All the health services have been continuing in Chautara. As we have handed over the structure and now we paid the 5% retention to Fixit Engineering Pvt. Ltd. The project now has been completed. |

ANMF/Nepal reports: We have successfully conducted the handover ceremony of “a prefabricated structure at Chautara”. The program was succesfully conducted with the presence of our honorable State Minister for Health and Population Dr. Surendra Kumar Yadhav along with other government officials. ANMF team with the help of Chautara district hospital staffs succesfully conducted the program which was held on 22nd September 2018. |

The prefabricated structure has been of great help for delivering the health care services through the district hospital as informed by Dr. Poma (District Health Officer, Sindhupalchowk district). Dr. Poma is very thankful towards the contribution of ANMF.
A local villager living in Chautra Municipality said "during the earthquake we received the health care services in an open air with us lying on the table but now it has been far better than before".
The Chautara District Hospital has been receiving following average number of patients:
- Outpatient department: 60-70 patients daily
- Inpatient department: 10 patients
- Emergency department: 15-20 patients
The hospital has 15 beds in total and it has been providing good laboratory services, nutritional rehabilitation services (especially for children and women), as well as other health care services. |

Handover letter received from the government. The construction of Chautara prefabricated structure has been completed and the hospital has already started delivering health care services through the newly constructed prefabricated structure. |

Update from ANMF/Nepal: The construction work has already been completed but some of the repair and finishing works were remaining as suggested by the monitoring team from Project Coordination Unit, Ministry of Health. The remaining work, including repair and finishing work, has been completed and the report has been submitted to Project Coordination Unit (Ministry of Health). ANMF/Nepal is awaiting a letter of response from Ministry of Health so that ANMF can conduct a formal handover ceremony. |

ANMF/Nepal and ANMF/USA members visited Chautara Hospital who are now running their clinics and inpatient units including their ER within the ANMF built units. It is nice too see them inside four walls instead of torn tents. The new District Health Officer informed us that soon ANMF built clinic unit will also be their main delivery center where they will be delivering over 10-15 babies a month. |

Previously $66,000 had been transferred to Nepal for this project. Construction started by Fixit Engineering on 4 November 2017. Due to increase in costs, $22,000 extra has been requested. Board unanimously approved to disburse this extra fund and agreed to use unused funds previously disbursed ($50,000) for maintenance of health posts (16MOHP002). |

The tripartite agreement has been signed between National Reconstruction Authority (NRA i.e. 1st party), Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP i.e. 2nd party) and America Nepal Medical Foundation-Nepal (ANMF-N i.e. 3rd party) ANMF is awaiting the approval from the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee at MoHP regarding the structural design and analysis which was submitted by ANMF. |

To construct Chautara hospital structure, District Health Office has allocated land. The prefabricated structure, including an emergency room, a male ward and a female ward, has been designed and submitted to Ministry of health for final approval while waiting for Social Welfare Council approval as well. Once approved, construction will start. |
